I've had many non-scale victories since dropping 85 pounds. I can now fit in a restaurant booth, shop till I drop on my own two feet, work outside all day, sleep deeply, and so much more. Wow! What a difference a little exercise makes! I'm putting in full days of yardwork for the first time in many years. Life's challenges continue, however, and my beloved kitty, Mia, crossed the rainbow bridge a couple of days ago. She had lymphoma.

Gracie and I joined the other vultures at the 99¢ Store today, looking to pick their bones clean of useful products as the entire chain liquidates and winds up business. Found some good items but the score was bittersweet. This place will be sorely missed.

Hi Cheryl! I don't know how populated the areas your businesses are in but where I live, owning a studio can be an excellent source of income. Photographers rent out the space for all kinds of photographs (matenity, engagement, professional, etc.) and its also a space one can rent for a party. We used one for our kids 1st birthday because it was easier than having 15 people in our house. A lot of times people just need space. Not a huge wedding venue size but just more than their house can fit.

Hi Andrea! It's been slow and steady. Tomorrow will be one full year of dedicated lifestyle change and 92 pounds gone. Whew, I never thought I'd be able to say that! I'm probably a bit over halfway through the journey. The hardest part will be knocking over a convenience store to pay for the skin surgery. (Kidding! Just kidding!)🤣

Thank you! I've always loved olive green. Yes, the store will open, but I'm dedicating this summer to putting my home life in order. Once I'm closing in on that I'll turn my attention to becoming a shopkeeper again😊 My mother taught me to love old things. She had a marvelous eye for beauty. In fact, we had planned to run the store together. Now it's a bucket list item for me. Fisher Price? That's possible - I'll let you know if I unearth any.

I discovered Lisa Frank around 2000. I'd never seen her stuff before, although it's been around since the 1980s. I've always been a sucker for bright happy graphics. Yes, Carson is my grandson. He's three months old today! Agreed about the clothing video - great idea!😊

Hi Denise! I'm suprised at how easy it's been to destash things I've been sitting on for years. I hope to be more or less finished before the weather turns cold and rainy this fall. I'm having fantasies of snuggling up by the woodstove in my neat and well ordered house, with its carpets fresh, walls papered, furniture polished, and its storage buildings half empty!
I need to do the same... even though I lost everything in that fire a bit ago now... it is quick to accumulate things... but then I think a few times before I stuff toss then and it makes it hard to get rid of stuff... but in reality the ridding of stuff , the things that are not quality stuff... well, that is liberating and doesn't weigh you down... Love what you are doing Cheryl! Keeping busy looks good on you Friend!
Oh gosh, I do the same. An item will move from pile to pile - 'keep', 'save for grandson', 'yard sale' and finally 'donate'. I think that's a normal way to say goodbye to our no longer needed possessions. I really am having a ball with the whole process. I've taken today to work in the yard, but my fingers are itching to get back over to those piles and piles of junk!

Hi Kathy! Yes, this is the year for sorting and clearing. It feels so good! I've lost 91 pounds since last June 6, 2023. My hoped-for goal was 100 and while I won't quite make it I feel entirely successful. When I make the 100 mark I'm having a party!

I was dying to get into your box of clothes to see what might fit you now. I bet you are close. I love going through boxes and sorting. I have a bunch of giveaways, all packed. I need to get my butt in Gear and take them to the distribution centers. My favorite two finds you pulled out was the Audrey Hepburn doll and the photo of you and your girlfriends. It sounds like such an awful task - sitting in the sun, sorting through the dusty detritus of my life. I'm actually enjoying the process, and I'm suprised how good it feels to say goodbye to paperwork, hoarded clothing, and all the rest of it. I found a collection of cute cotton tops that will fit in about 20 pounds. I bought them in 2000, and they still had the price tags!

Love that telephone! I still have a landline, just can’t seem to let it go. That photo of you and your friends in lawn chairs reminded me of a photo I have of me and my siblings and a neighbor friend sitting in lawn chairs like that. I was probably 7 years old. I’m 62 now. 😁
I've tagged this winter to sort photos. I'm going to make an annotated album for my grandson, the same as my mother did for my boys. Plus, I'll start the laborious task of digitizing the photos and home movies. Will anyone care? Probably not. Oh well, the things we do for love.🤣

It's nearly dusk here and I'm still sitting outside the container, sifting through my junk. I was right about the volume of declutter - about half of it will go immediately. It's obscene how much Christmas crap I have - many, many Costco tubs full of the stuff. What was I thinking!? I don't even decorate for the holidays anymore. I'm honing it down to the decor I inherited from my mom, anything the kids made or I made, and some odds and ends from my early 20s. Everything else is getting packed up by theme and will end up at a yard sale, then donated. Whew, this feels great!
Anyways, so about this video, this is amazing. I love some of the antiques that you have right there. I could actually say one thing my parents raised me up on was knickknacks and antiques. real cool interesting stuff you may find. I have a lot of cool stuff as well and thanks for sharing your video. Yeah, My parents had a lot of family stuff, but my grandparents were the real hoarders. He was a garbage man - owned the contract - and stuffed his warehouse full of fascinating castoffs. After he passed no one else in the family was interested in the hoard but me. Needless to say, it all ended up here! Take care and safe travels!

Outside of really close family, I rarely find out about someone's passing until months, sometimes years later. I'm going to keep those cards, if for no other reason than to remind myself how civilized people should behave.😊
